Christiane VALLEJO was born on 7 May in Sainte-Marie, Martinique. From an early age, she was drawn to music, and it was only natural that she should join her parish choir at the age of fifteen. She soon found herself a soloist, her mezzo-soprano being much appreciated.
Her career as a singer took off after she met Ronald TULLE and went on to meet many Afro-Caribbean artists. She met Eric VIRG, with whom she did her first tour of the island, in Guadeloupe and Haiti. She went on to study at the CIM jazz school in Paris, where she also played with a biguine jazz group and the Christiane Vallejo Quartet, which she founded at the school. For the first year, she took part in the Chant des Sirènes alongside Emeline MICHEL, Tanya SAINT-VAL and Céline FLERIAG.
1998In Paris, she met up with Peggy BAJAL, who introduced her to Steeve PIERRE-LOUIS, a talented young composer. The album Atomes took shape. This album and its success are the fruit of two years' work. It celebrated the advent of a new star, Christiane VALLEJO. "Ricolé" introduced her to the public and "Assassins" established her: the public embraced her.
1999Christiane's first album is ready! It was called "Autrement". The first single was on everyone's lips that year: "Pèsonn pa ni dwa". This was followed by "A quoi bon", "Orpheline" and finally "Pour toi" in 2000.
2000, She embarked on a new adventure, writing for others, and her first effort was the album TEMPO ZOUK, on which she wrote 4 songs performed by 4 young singers.
2001VALLEJO year! She released her second solo album, "Sans faux-semblants". She put together a live show that toured Martinique, Guadeloupe and French Guiana.
2002La Consecration:
It's the big launch of his live band "Valéjolive & Ze Group", a formula that's winning over fans and performing his repertoire.
2004 She reunited with Médhy Custos to create "Trahie", which gave Christiane Vallejo a new dimension as a performer, with a track that oscillated between zouk, compas and R'n'B, and she signed to Chabine Prod.
2008Christiane is doing her Metamorphosis with a new album.
She has no qualms about experimenting with styles other than zouk, and rightly so, working with the best: Sael, Marvin Et Kalash, Marie-Jo Zarb, Medhy Custos, Princess Lover, Peggy Bajal, Steeve Pierre-Louis, Jocelyne Labylle, Eric Virgal, Marvin, Claude Louis-Marie, Jean-Michel Hierso, Ali Angel, Philippe Joseph, Frederic Caracas and herself for 15 tracks of unrivalled beauty, emotion and precision.
2009: She won the SACEM AWARD FOR BEST ZOUK ALBUM OF THE YEAR for METAMORPHOSE
Between 2012 and 2020, his career was very busy, with numerous productions and collaborations, including the HIT duet "Infidélité" with Dany P, another with Tony Chasseur, and hits such as : C Comme ça, Même si je l'aime, Tou pré mwen and the cover of Rékonsilyé
2023: Release of the single "Gimme Your Lovin", sung as a duet with Gersham. The track was created at a music seminar organised by the CCI for Caribbean artists and local artists via the TEECA Caribbean collaboration programme. The single, produced by Chabine Prod, features a video clip directed by JIMA KANOR in Saint Lucia.
