FRANCKY VINCENT

Francky Vincent, whose real name is Franck Vincent, is a singer-songwriter with 200 songs to his name, as well as a producer, manager, publisher, artistic director, show entrepreneur, booker and painter.

18 APRIL 1956, born in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, to a father who was a mechanic and a mother who was an embroiderer. Two months before his A-levels, he gave up his studies to take part in a social security competition, from which he was dismissed after 6 months. In 1974, he joined a small neighbourhood group called "Tabou n°2" in Raizet as a percussionist and singer. The group released 2 albums in 1975 and 1976. 1977, back from military service in French Guyana, his parents feared that he would return to his random activities as an "island singer" and found him a job as a "spare parts manager for light aircraft". But bored to tears for a year, he decided to reassemble Tabou n°2. In 1979, Francky finally decided to go it alone and devote himself to naughty songs. His first solo album, sold under the table, sold 50,000 copies in the Antilles/Guyane. So much so that in the 80s, he was given nicknames such as: "docteur porno, Francky cochon, le zoukeur x, or in Creole Francky malélivé la". Despite radio censorship, he has endured and continues to appeal to tourists, thanks to the advent of free radio, which happily broadcasts his daring new songs.

1990 Francky began producing his own material, with lyrics in French rather than Creole, in order to appeal to the majors. 1991, the album "Alice ça glisse" produced by the artist was a hit in the French West Indies/Guyana and Reunion Island, selling 80,000 copies. That same year he played his first Olympia, then moved to Paris a year later to try his luck. In 1994, he met Christian Lester, an executive producer, who got him to sign a licensing deal with ARCADE (WAGRAM MUSIC) to release the famous compilation "Fruit de la passion", with the inescapable slogan "vas y Francky c'est bon!", the hit song of the summer of 1995. Fruit de la passion" reached number 17 in the ifo/snep album chart for 29 weeks, selling over 500,000 copies. In 1995, Francky was a guest on the TV sets of famous presenters such as Drucker, Sébastien, Foucault, Arthur and others.) He went on to win two gold discs, then a platinum disc. Francky's success was also international, with Fruit de la passion topping the charts in Colombia for four months and Argentina for two months. In 1996, his little-publicised album "Le Tombeur" reached number 40 in the ifo/snep top albums chart for a fortnight, and quickly went gold, selling 120,000 copies. 1999, the album "À la Folie" sold 80,000 copies, including an adaptation of a song by the group Kassav', "Zouk la sé sèl médikaman nou ni". In 2003, Francky set up a festive restaurant in Thiais, near Paris, "LE FRANCKY VINCENT CAFÉ", which he happily closed after six months.

In 2009, Francky Vincent, co-producer with Christian Lester, signed a licensing deal with Universal's USM label, which chose to release the track "tu veux mon zizi" "for the buzz". It made a dazzling entry into the charts, reaching number 6 and staying there for 29 weeks. The 34-track best of "mon fest of" went gold, selling 60,000 copies. In 2010, this atypical artist in need of exposure was one of the farmers on "La Ferme Célébrités" in South Africa, where his integrity was greatly appreciated for eight weeks. He was Mickael VENDETTA's accomplice, and a troublemaker full of humour. After this bizarre adventure, he performed a parody of the Village People song "ymca", adapted into French as "moi j'aime scier". This single reached number 19 in the best-selling singles charts in France. In 2011, Francky took part in "LA NUIT D'OUTRE MER", performing three of his best-known songs in front of a 17,000-strong crowd at Bercy stadium in Paris. In 2012, Francky left Universal by mutual agreement to become the sole producer of his new album, "Mathis métis", which is also a phenomenon with millions of views on the internet. 2014, the artist returns to Universal and signs "Couleur Francky" a new album of covers of French songs. 2015, Release of the autobiographical book "Ma fesse cachée" Éditions vents salés. Francky performs Fruit de la passion on the Top 50 anniversary show on M6 entitled "Les tubes qui font danser".
