Frédérick Losio

Born in Le Moule, Guadeloupe, Frédérick LOSIO is one of the leading figures in zouk and West Indian music. Born into a family of musicians, he grew up surrounded by the rhythms and melodies that would shape his entire career. Early on, he built up a solid experience by joining several groups before perfecting his skills alongside Martinican artist Simon Jurade. This experience enabled him to launch his solo career, beginning with the album Gasolinein which he pays tribute to Mme Dupuis, an emblematic figure from Le Moule.

Over the years, Frédérick LOSIO has released a string of successful albums, including Zouk Time Vol. 5 (1991), Kontretan (1993), Simplicity (1996) and Poetry range (2009), affirming her unique talent in the world of zouk. His music, though deeply rooted in this genre, is also open to other influences, such as bossa nova with the track Eyao or jazz with An Frèa collaboration with the talented pianist Michel Mado.

Frédérick LOSIO is also renowned for his many collaborations with renowned artists, including Pedagogues in Martinique, Jean-Jacques Gaston, and DJ Wilson for Come on Zouker. But what really sets him apart is his love of the stage. A true live music enthusiast, he ignites his audiences with his energy, presence and charisma. His authenticity and talent on stage make him a living legend of zouk.
