Originally from Guadeloupe and Martinique, Leïla Chicot was born in the Paris region and grew up in the West Indies from an early age.
This was followed by numerous appearances: with Frederick Caracas on the track "Champagn Light", and on Section Zouk Millenium with the track "Toi et moi".
Her first solo album, EXCESS, was released in spring 2000, with the indelible hits "Inmew en secret", "Ça aurait dû être moi" and "Mété les voil'". All the greatest composers work for Leïla, this new voice of zouk, original, suave and sensual in tone.
The album sold over 60,000 copies! It now has an international following!
Her second album, Renaissance, was released in 2009 to great acclaim. On it she sang the hit "Tu disais" with Jocelyne Labylle and Sonia Dersion.
At the same time, the Zouk Diva was the host and producer of a radio programme called "Exclusif Zouk" (a big hit with the Haitian community in the USA) broadcast in Miami, Leila's place of residence at the time. Then Leila became a mother.
In 2013, Leïla is a key artist on the Zouk planet. She's back with a new look and a new dimension. Divinement Love" is her new album, produced by her and featuring guests such as Tanya St Val, Fally Ipupa, Mikaben, Frederick Caracas and Richard Birman!
DIVINEMENT LOVE has been described as the album of maturity. Long-awaited after the success of the 1st single "Lov' Intans", which rocked the Afro-Caribbean charts, DIVINEMENT LOVE has delighted its audience.
2013 was also the year we discovered the artist in LIVE performances and concerts. That's how Leïla CHICOT gave us a wonderful gift on 20 April 2014, on the CABARET SAUVAGE stage, with her very 1st concert in Paris. This concert, which celebrated 20 years in the music business, confirmed her status as the DIVA OF ZOUK!
Leila followed this up with a tour of the Caribbean in 2015 (Guadeloupe on 10 April, Martinique on 17 April): The LOVE TOUR is launched!
