Lieutenant was born in Fort-de-France. He knows the streets and is determined to denounce the situation of the residents, particularly their young people, for whom he feels not enough is being done. He is a ghetto youth[1]. He owes his success to General Tchô, Daddy Lee, Kingston and the WarLord Bounty Killer. At the age of 15, he wrote his first lyric.
In 1996, he formed his own group with Saël, the Reggae Soldiers. Together they made a name for themselves, first in the Sound Systems, then Lieutenant honed his lyrics alongside Saël, but this time at Trinity Sound Studio, under the guidance of Levy and Freedom.
In 1999, he posed on Spart Mc's album, with the sound Opération coup de poing. He went on to make a host of explosive tracks, including Hypocrite dead, Soundboy dead, A pa jé, Back full, 9mm, Man pa papaw, Bun fassy, Gigik, Bullet and Ça va faire mal.
In 2009, with Saël, Pleen Pyroman, Valley and Sergent, he founded the group ArtMada[2].
In 2020, Lieutenant released his mixtape Tchune dèyè tchune, a collection of sounds by the artist between 2000 and 2020. On 15 September 2020, he released his new album Milito.
