PATRICK ANDREY

Born in Martinique, Patrick Andrey (author, composer, arranger, performer) has been rocked by all the music of the Caribbean. But it was in Zouk that he first made his mark, recording his eponymous debut solo album in 2000. Three other albums followed in 2004
( day and night), 2006 ( Intime), 2011 ( Night club).

In 2000, he met Jim Rama; together they recorded six albums under the name Face à Face, released in
2001 (Face to Face), 2003 (Andrey-Rama), 2005 (Trinity), 2008 (Forever), 2010 ( Face to Face Collector), 2012 ( Face to Face 5 stars).

But Zouk is not Patrick Andrey's only passion.

After studying at the Université́ Paris VIII, he obtained a Deug in musicology in 1994, because classical music is an integral part of his daily life.

That same year, he studied counterpoint and harmony at the Russian Conservatoire in Paris with Maestro Tsvetan Dobrev, a Bulgarian composer.

Patrick perfected his orchestration skills for large ensembles with the late French composer Francis Bayer.

In fact, Patrick followed this composer when he recorded his contemporary works, and learned to be rigorous.

Building on this learning experience, in 2007 Patrick Andrey travelled to the Czech Republic to record a symphonic piece composed in 1999. All the orchestra's sections will be present, 74 musicians in all.

In 2019, with the help of conductor Luc Bouhaben and administrator Christophe Farrugia, Patrick Andrey is presenting the Kréyôl Majestik Senfonik symphony orchestra. The orchestra's vocation is to play ultra-marine pieces and to focus on musical education.

On 02 September 2019, the KMS recorded 2 Creole mazurkas "Kontan i kontan", "Nostaljik la" and an adagio "Manicou ké volé" which can be found on a DVD released in 2019 and on the MAJESTIK SENFONIK TV YouTube channel.
